Damage eyes from phone screen

| (Screen time effect on eyes) |
Looking at your phone for long periods can affect your eyes in several ways. Most of these issues come from digital eye strain (also called computer vision syndrome). Here are the common effects:
🔹 Short-term effect
Eye strain– feeling of tired, sore, or heavy eyes after long screen use.
Dry eyes– because we blink less when staring at screens.
Blurred vision – focusing for too long at close distance makes it harder to shift focus.
Headache– often caused by eye strain or glare.
Difficulty sleeping – blue light from phones can disrupt melatonin and delay sleep.
🔹 Long-term risks (if habits don’t improve)
1.)Worsening of nearsightedness (myopia) – especially in children/teens.
2.)Increased sensitivity to light (photophobia).
3.)Pretinal stress from blue light exposure (still debated, but reducing exposure helps).
🔹 Tips to protect your eyes:-
Step-1:-Follow the 20-20-20 rule → every 20 minutes, look at something 20 feet away for 20 seconds.
Step-2:- reduce screen brightness and match it to room lighting.
Step-3:-Use blue light filter/night mode in the evening.
Step-4:-Keep phone at least 16–18 inches away from your eyes.
Step-5:-Blink often or use artificial tears if eyes feel dry.
Step-5:-Take screen breaks and spend time outdoors—natural light helps eye health.
